Do you agree or disagree that it's better to work in a larger company than a small one？

Every day, every hour, even every minute, it is commonly to see that a large amount of people changing their work from one company to another in kinds of mediums. Some people believed that working in a larger company would benefit a lot, such as more opportunities, high technology, and so on. However, other people hold the opinion that small company is a pleasant place to work. In my opinion, as a young graduate student, I prefer working in a large company, and I will give some reasons as follows to support my viewpoint.

The most important reason is that large company offers me more favorable work conditions than small one. There is no denying that most large companies have enough finance available to buy the equipment and technique which they are desired. Take chemical engineering for example, it is hard to imagine they will complete a chemical project/experiment without tube, acid, and other experimental instruments. Moreover, with the rapid development of the technology, updating the equipment immediately is essential to a company’s development, especially for these companies associate with high-tech, such as Computer Company, network firm, electronic company, and the list will go on. The updating fees would be tremendous and the small company usually can not afford.

In addition to the excellent conditions, the characteristic of the colleague whom work with you is directly affect you development. Generally, the staffs of a large company are well educated and trained before entering the company, an advantage of work with them is that you can learn more useful skills from them, and more important, they would easily become your good friends other than partners. Unlike some small companies, the workers are mainly come from country and with some bad habits; it will be unpleasant to work with them day after day.

Despite of some shortcomings, such as more tasks to do and few times to rest, as a young man graduate from university, I believe that I can overcome these disadvantages and make a good progress in the large company.

For an individual, working place does not merely mean where to earn a living. Rather, it is a complex environment where to realize one's value, and which may influence one's value. Large companies are usually preferred for their reputation, high pay and noble working team which may greatly promote one's personal value, however, in spite of these merits, I don't consider it better to work in a larger company than a small one.

In the first place, it is easier to get personal improvement and promotion in a small company, which would promote one's value greatly. In large companies competition is too great for most individuals to get promoted in a short time. One with average talent may have to work for tens of years to get a leadership, and before s/he reach this status, s/he would always been supervised and working more like a machine than a human.  On contrast, in a small company one will more readily be selected as team leader, share a voice in decision making, and therefore improve one's working skills. While the right of making decision and improvement of working skills are evident of one's personal value improvement, the greater opportunity of being promoted becomes an advantage of small companies.

Secondly, the work stress is less in small companies. Even though not in a high position in company, one will feel more relaxed in a small, friendly team than in a large, severe company where rapid promotion is a hardly realized dream and where hundreds of young talented people are waiting to replace you. Great working stress cause physical and mental illness as well as keep people from efficient and innovative working. One who worries about these negative effects of working stress may consider staying in a small company rather than a big one.

Finally and most importantly, a small company is more likely to make progress than larger ones. Large companies are too great to transcendent themselves, which makes it more possible for the workers to be influenced totally by the regulations and culture of the company than to influence and promote the company's value. However, small companies have great potential to make progress and even revolution of themselves. In this sense, small company is preferable especially to people with ambition, confidence and determination to make a small company into an increasingly larger one, and therefore greatly demonstrate their ability and personal values.

these r suggestions but maybe inaccurate, after all i'm not masterful at writing either

maybe u could spend more time on planning the main structure of ur essay. (for me planning time is about 5 min)

before u write down examples, reconfirm that whether they could persuade urself or not.

and  practice is most important. try to collect some regular phrases that could be used everytime u write. this could save a lot time.

Firstly, it is easier to get promoted in a small company, which is a great encouragement for us. In large companies, competition is so fierce that it’s hard for us to get promoted in a short time. An average person may have to work as hard as a machine for over ten years to be appointed as a leader. By contrast, in small companies, one can easily be selected as a team leader who can voice his/her opinions in decision making. This can greatly improve his/her working skills.

Secondly, working pressure in small companies is not as much as that in large ones. One can feel more relaxed in a small and friendly team than in a large and cruel company where promotion seems to be a far-reached dream. High stress may probably cause both physical and mental illness and may also keep people from working innovatively and efficiently. One who worries about the working pressure will prefer working in a small company rather than a big one.

Finally and most importantly, small companies themselves are more likely to make progress than larger ones. It’s more difficult for large companies to transform themselves in terms of company regulations and culture. However, small companies have greater potential to make progress and reform themselves. In this sense, small companies are preferable especially to people with ambition, confidence and determination to help the companies grow much better to fulfill their personal values.
