The TOEFL iBT scores provide more information about the applicant's ability to communicate in English in an academic environment. To make best use of the score information, some institutions plan to set section or skill score requirements either by themselves or in combination with a total score, while others plan to set a total score standard. Score users are encouraged to consider other evidence of English proficiency in addition to the TOEFL score.
The TOEFL iBT score scale is: Test Section | Score Range |
---|
Listening | 0 to 30 | Reading | 0 to 30 | Speaking | 0 to 30 | Writing | 0 to 30 | Total Score | 0 to 120 |
