Why do I write this post?

In this title, the arguer is trying to establish an argument that why he should write this post. To substantiate his argument, the writer gave the reason that he needs to write something in order to write this post. Bringing his argument further, the author reasons that if he does not write this post, he will not be able to update his blog. In his summery, he claims that writing a post is critical for the post to be written.

In his argument, the author commits a causal fallacy, that is, the reasons he has given do not necessarily lead to the result he claims.

In the first place, the author raised an oversimplified reason that the intention of writing itself accounts for the adequate condition to the conclusion to be drawn. The simple intention of the writer to write a post may be merely responsible for a desire of reading others post rather than writing his own. In addition, the writer does not give convincing evidence to bolster his cause and effect reasoning to be held.

In the second place, there may be many reasons other than the one given above cause the conclusion to come to hold. The writer gives a conclusion that the above given reason is the sole cause of the outcome. It might not be the case. It is highly possible that the writer is pressurized by the external force to write this post. Alternatively, a mere incentive of writing might effectively bring the writer to make his decision of writing a post. In the title argument, the writer does not offer any persuasive evidence tin support of his argument. Without ruling out the possible reasons I list above, the writer can not conclude that an intention of write is the only reason to write. Therefore, the author fails to make his argument convincing.

Last but not the least, the evidence cited by the write bears vested interests of his own which is manipulated to his own advantage. The evidence is twisted and illogical in the sense that it can not act as representative of the motivation of writing a post, as a group. The evidence may only be a special case that only happens under some certain circumstance, and since does not represent a whole picture of how the group looks like. As a result, there is no denying that the writer can not draw such a hasten conclusion that writing a post is solely decided by an intention of writing.

To conclude, the argument the auger addresses has some merits, but it has many fallacious shortfalls that deserve our attention. Without addressing the issues I point out, the writer can not make a convincing point for his argument. It is topic that nobody can give a unanimous answer, and hence the conclusion depends on different people who may have different opinions. Moreover I will suspend my judgment until the author can offer more substantiate illustration to make his argument hold.
