What track to work on for venture capital?

最近开始有对日后去venture capital发展的意向，那么MBA选校的时候应该怎么选？是选entrepreneur, general management还是finance方向强的学校？

It is very difficult to break into venture capital unless you have extensive industry experience pre-mba or you have excellent network with those firms meaning you know the key person in those firm or you have worked in those firms before.

I HEARD only hbs and stanford provide you the best chanace to get in those firms. Other top programs even wharton don't/can't send many their students into vc. I dont know if it is true though.

Your previous background is much more important than your school. H and S send around 2% of their class directly to VC industry each year while other top schools send around 1%.

VC is a very sophisticated business and provides little opportunity for junior people. It may not be beneficial for an inexperienced fresh-grad to join the industry right after the school.

right, for MBA degree holders in VC industry, probably 60% are from Stanford and 35% are from HBS. If you want to get into this industry, better have extensive industry experiences and some, not necessary though, IB experience.
