我觉得C错，理由是something 后没that, infections 前没other,因为前面提到smallpox.

Q2, 只有比较时才需要用OTHER排除，A错在THE OTHER,　不能有. the. one... the other.

Q1 主要是less和smaller比较. less好。比较结构中时态不一致,助动词必须要补出来，如果时态一致就可省略.　D,E补了，但E错。"had had less of ..." 逻辑上可以是过去完成时。至少比不补强, 不补表明一般现在时。而本题比较的就是现在和过去。这样的解释可能有些牵强。

第二题的somthing后的补语成分的that可以省略的

另外such as，排除B，根据时态排除D，根据用法排除E（太冗长，possibility of直接加名词，且还改变了原句的意思）

A的错误是，the other是单数概念，后面不该用复数

关于such as

有1.such+名词/名词短语+as

2.such as 1，2，and3（表举例）

这两种用法都是可以的，

至于others用于such+名词/名词短语+as短语之间，感觉可以加上，但是不加更符合习惯

好准确地回答。。。now i understand "the other"

one more question, if i use "others" instead of "the other" in the A of the Q2, is it correct ? even it's not best..

it doesn't matter whether "other" changes to "others" in the question above. there's no gramatical error here. one who want to argue can look at the dictionary: the usage of "other people" exists. I have never seen "others people" in the

GMAT has a very strict usage of "other" since other does not logically exclude itself from the choice.

one must use "out of the other" instead of "other" to exclude the possibilty of including itself from the list.

since the smallpox has already eradicated, it cannot be logically include in any other infections which are still not eradicated.
