Day117
1.(161)Unlike most other species of cat, regardless of being domesticated or not, the claws of the cheetah are not retractable and so it is more like a dog in that way.

A. regardless of being domesticated or not, the claws of the cheetah are not retractable and so it is more like a dog in that way
B. domestic or wild, the cheetah does not have retractable claws and so is more like a dog in that respect
C. regardless of domestication or not, the cheetah's claws are not retractable and so it more like a dog in that respect
D. domestic or wild, the claws of the cheetah are not retractable and so it is more like a dog in that way
E. domestic or wild, the cheetah does not have retractable claws and so they are more like a dog's in that respect
2.(162)When housing prices climb too quickly, the Federal Reserve often responds by raising the key interest rate, which has the curious effect of actually lowering housing prices instead of raise them, as one might expect.

(A) which has the curious effect of actually lowering housing prices instead of raise them

(B) an action that has the curious effect of actually lowering housing prices rather than raising them

(C) which has the curious effect of actually lowering housing prices instead of raising them

(D) which rather than raising housing prices actually has the curious effect of lowering them

(E) an action that has the curious effect of actually lowering housing prices instead of raise them

3.(163)Karl Marx divided society into two broad classes, the bourgeoisie and the proletariat; the latter of which, he wrote, was free from the danger of moral decay due to their lack of material property.

A)proletariat; the latter of which, he wrote, was free from the danger of moral decay due to their lack of
B)proletariat, which, he wrote, were free from the danger of moral decay due to their lack of
C)proletariat; the latter, he wrote, was free from the danger of moral decay because of its lack of
D)proletariat, the latter of which he wrote were free from the danger of moral decay because of lacking
E)proletariat, the latter being free, he wrote, from the danger of moral decay because of lacking
4.(164)Timetables for all Russian railway stations use Moscow time; even those located in such-flung locales as magadan are eight time zones east of Moscow.

A. Timetables for all Russian railway stations use Moscow time; even those located in such-flung locales as magadan are eight time zones east of
B. Moscow time is used for timetables at all Russian railway stations - even those located in such far- flung areas as Magadan, eight time zones east of
C. the timetables use Moscow time at all Russian railway stations- even though locations in such far-flung areas as magadan are eight time zones east from
D. MOSCOW time is used at Russian railway stations for all timetables - even those locations in areas as far-flung as magadan, eight time zones to east from
E. At all Russian railway stations, the timetables use Moscow time even in locations that are in such far-flung areas as Magadan, which is eight time zones to the east of

5.(165)Push for greater integration of global economy is not, like earlier, guided by complicated philosophical questions about the global fraternity, but the practical matters of business: cost savings and efficiency.

A. not, like earlier, guided by complicated philosophical questions about the global fraternity, but the practical matters of business
B. being guided by the practical matters of business, instead of complicated philosophical questions about the global fraternity, as it has been earlier
C. guided not by complicated philosophical questions about the global fraternity, as earlier, but by the practical matters of business
D. guided by the practical matters of business, not complicated philosophical questions about the global fraternity, which was the case earlier
E. guided not by complicated philosophical questions about the global fraternity, as has been the case earlier, but by the practical matters of business
6.(166)Since the Italian government began a crackdown on the black market in the 1970's, the amount of looted antiquities smuggled out of Italy dropped by a 50 percent decline.

A. amount of looted antiquities smuggled out of Italy dropped by a 50 percent decline
B. amount of looted antiquities smuggled out of Italy has experienced a 50 percent decline
C. number of looted antiquities smuggled out of Italy has declined by 50 percent
D. number of looted antiquities smuggled out of Italy declined by 50 percent
E. number of looted antiquities smuggled out of Italy has dropped by a 50 percent decline
C  首先通过redundant issue排除掉AE,因为drop by 和decline。
7.(167)Poor weather in early 14th-century Europe created meager harvests, causing the result of mass starvation in some areas and the elimination of as many as 15 percent of the population.

A. causing the result of mass starvation in some areas and the elimination as many as
B. causing the result of mass starvation in some areas and eliminating as much as
C. resulting in mass starvation in some areas and the elimination of as much as
D. and resulted in mass starvation in some areas and the elimination of as many as
E. causing mass starvation in some areas and the elimination of as many as
C population是不可数名词,所以要使用as much as,所以排除掉ADE, 然后causing the result of有点重复了,排除掉B
8.(168)Though considered aesthetically primitive at the time, Henri Rousseau has become an iconic figure of Post-Impressionism for his dream-like canvases painted like he was naive.

(A) Henri Rousseau has become an iconic figure of Post- Impressionism for his dream-like canvases painted like he was naive.
(B) Henri Rousseau’s canvases, painted in a naive, dream-like style, later established the artist as an icon of Post-Impressionism.
(C) Henri Rousseau painted canvases in a naive, dream-like style that has become an icon of Post-Impressionism.
(D) Henri Rousseau’s canvases were painted in a naive, dream- like style that was later iconic of Post-Impressionism.
(E) the canvases of Henri Rousseau are icons of Post- Impressionism due to being painted in a naive, dream-like style.

9.(169)Since the 1980s, when Chile adopted free market economic policies that attracted significant investment, copper has been the country’s top commodity, quadrupling the production of its next biggest competitors, China and the United States.

A. Since the 1980s, when Chile adopted free market economic policies that attracted significant investment, copper has been the country’s top commodity,

B. Since Chile adopted free market economic policies in the 1980s that attracted significant economic investment, it has produced more copper than any country,

C. Chile attracted significant economic investment in the 1980s by adopting free market economic policies, and ever since then, it has produced more copper than has any other country,

D. Copper has been Chile’s top commodity since the 1980s, when free market economic policies attracted significant investment,

E. After Chile adopted free market economic policies that attracted significant economic investment in the 1980s, it has produced more copper than any other country,
B

Day117
1.(161)Unlike most other species of cat, regardless of being domesticated or not, the claws of the cheetah are not retractable and so it is more like a dog in that way.

A. regardless of being domesticated or not, the claws of the cheetah are not retractable and so it is more like a dog in that way

B. domestic or wild, the cheetah does not have retractable claws and so is more like a dog in that respect

C. regardless of domestication or not, the cheetah's claws are not retractable and so it more like a dog in that respect

D. domestic or wild, the claws of the cheetah are not retractable and so it is more like a dog in that way

E. domestic or wild, the cheetah does not have retractable claws and so they are more like a dog's in that respect

B which were 究竟是指P 还是B and P? due to

4.(164)Timetables for all Russian railway stations use Moscow time; even those located in such-flung locales as magadan are eight time zones east ofMoscow.

E. guided not by complicated philosophical questions about the global fraternity, as has been the case earlier, but by the practical matters of business

not but 平行
as be the case - 比较 as earlier 并没有说清楚

7.(167)Poor weather in early 14th-century Europe created meager harvests, causing the result of mass starvation in some areas and the elimination of as many as 15 percent of the population.

A. causing the result of mass starvation in some areas and the elimination as many as
B. causing the result of mass starvation in some areas and eliminating as much as
C. resulting in mass starvation in some areas and the elimination of as much as
D. and resulted in mass starvation in some areas and the elimination of as many as
E. causing mass starvation in some areas and the elimination of as many as

population - 单数 所有15 percent of population 也是单数 as many as 不对

E. After Chile adopted free market economic policies that attracted significant economic investment in the 1980s, it has produced more copper than any other country,

any country 包含自己 无法自己和自己比 所以应该是any other country 和其他任一比

10.(170)Ever since the concussion risks associated with playing tackle football became more widely known, many parents have elected to sign their children up for sports that were less dangerous, such as soccer or tennis.

A) became more widely known, many parents have elected to sign their children up for sports that were less dangerous, such as

B) became more widely known, many parents have elected to sign up their children for less dangerous sports, including

C) have become more widely known, many parents elected to sign their children up for less dangerous sports, such as

D) have become more widely known, many parents have elected to sign their children up for sports that were less dangerous, including

E) have become more widely known, many parents elected to sign up their children for less dangerous sports, such as

A只要看到sports that were less 这个时态 就可以排除了 因为过去危险 不意味着have eleceted to

8.(168)Though considered aesthetically primitive at the time, HenriRousseau has become an iconic figure of Post-Impressionism for his dream-likecanvases painted like he was naive.

(A) Henri Rousseau has become an iconic figure of Post- Impressionism for hisdream-like canvases painted like he was naive.
(B) Henri Rousseau’s canvases, painted in a naive, dream-like style, later established the artist as an iconof Post-Impressionism.
(C) Henri Rousseau painted canvases in a naive, dream-like style that hasbecome an icon of Post-Impressionism.
(D) Henri Rousseau’scanvases were painted in a naive, dream- like style that was later iconic ofPost-Impressionism.
(E) the canvases of Henri Rousseau are icons of Post- Impressionism due tobeing painted in a naive, dream-like style.

B. Since Chile adoptedfree market economic policies in the 1980s that attracted significant economicinvestment, it has produced more copper than any country,

C. Chile attracted significanteconomic investment in the 1980s by adopting free market economic policies, andever since then, it has produced more copper than has any other country,

D. Copper has been Chile’s top commodity since the 1980s, when free marketeconomic policies attracted significant investment,

10.(170)Ever since the concussion risks associated with playing tacklefootball became more widely known, many parents have elected to signtheir children up for sports that were less dangerous, such as socceror tennis.

A) became more widelyknown, many parents have elected to sign their children up for sports that wereless dangerous, such as

B) became more widely known, many parents have elected to sign up their children for less dangerous sports, including 好吧,一开始只关注sign up去了,没看到A中后面写的是that were,是否危险肯定是一般现在时,不然之前危险,现在不危险了嘛。。。

C) have become more widely known, many parents elected to sign their childrenup for less dangerous sports, such as

D) have become more widely known, many parents have elected to sign theirchildren up for sports that were less dangerous, including
