About the Center
The Center for Corporate Governance and Employee Ownership isestablished to study and promote best practices of corporate governance in China. With its both academic and applied research on corporate governance, the Center aims to contribute to the understanding of the structural transformation of Chinese economy and the orderly development of the capital market, toprovide valuable policy advice on governance regulations and reforms, and to offer corporate governance-related training courses and consulting services to Chinese enterprises. The Center has three main research areas: (i) governancere forms and corporate behavior; (ii) family business succession and governance; and (iii) the design of executive compensation and equity-based incentives.
Professor Wang Cong is the director of the Center. Professor Wang received his Ph.D. in Finance from Vanderbilt University in 2007 and is currently the associate director of Shenzhen Finance Institute and a Presidential Chair Professor at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. His research focuses on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, andexecutive compensation. His papers have been extensively published in topacademic journals including Journal of Finance, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Contemporary Accounting Research, and Journal of Banking and Finance. His publications have received a fair amount of recognition. Two of his paperson corporate governance are among the top 10 most-cited articles published in Journal of Finance in 2007 and 2009, respectively. Another paper on foreign directors won the 2015 Emerald Citations of Excellence Award.
The Center has established the "Family Heritage and Risk ManagementOffice", which aims to conduct in-depth research and discussion on theperformance of family business succession and related risk management, and provide intellectual support such as methodology and tools for the healthy and long-term development of family businesses. The main research areas of the Office include family heritage and governance, family risk management and wealth planning, and family social capital and human capital.

Position: Full-time Research Assistant at Center for Corporate Governance and Employee Ownership
Responsibilities: 1) Collect and analyze data; 2) Prepare research reports, case studies, and presentation materials; 3) Assist center-sponsored activities such as conferences and surveys; 4) Other duties as assigned; 5) Working during non-office hours and some business traveling maybe needed.
Requirements: 1) A Master's degree in the field of Economics, Finance, or Accounting; 2) Capable of handling large financial data (strong SASprogramming skills are preferred); 3) Proficiency in MS Office software such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; 4) Familiar with Chinese financial databases such as WIND and CSMAR; 5) Chinese as native language but fluency in written and spoken English.
