about optional essay

请问optional essay到底要不要写呢?记得好像看到哪里提到过，说AdCom 根本没时间看这么多essay，更别说是optional的…………

It's been heard that most people are using the optional essay to explain some gaps in their careers, a low gpa, or a low mark on the GMAT. I dont know if that is valid. But make sure that whatever you write for the optional essay is NOT shown somewhere else on your application. Adcom will be pissed off that you use the optional essay to tell how self-motivated you are, which you already state on the other essay(s).
