答案为E，我选的B。
现在知道B第一个是错在or less的插入语相当于在说have half the chance or less the chance, 改变句意而且不通顺。
但是除去这个错误，把B的修饰成分去掉，主干保留下来就是：
the coronary patients have half or less than half the chance of dying of a heart attack than those do.
这个比较看上去似乎没什么问题？
求大神指点

就这样看，可能是对的。
但是字典里只看到 give half the/a chance
例句里见过 have less than half of sth
不敢确定。

楼主其实没必要纠结。
RON经常说的话就是：不要试图去改出正确的句子。你只需要知道的是哪里不对。
