先用语义来分析的，公司为股东去寻找投资机会。还是股东为公司去寻找投资机会。
                           公司为新数据而感到沮丧。还是股东为新数据而感到沮丧。
必然是股东是主语啊。
discourage在表示沮丧，丧失信心的时候，多和someone连用。
其次，这题并不需要用语义去解决。
the nation`s leading manufacturing companies are searching for alternative investment opportunities for its shareholders
companies和its shareholders，一目了然地排除D

第二题
先看in nature 修饰的主体，无法确定。主句  还是从句？
in nature 意思是实质上  这里变得多余，有它无它不改变句意。
再看
physical exertion that is moderate to vigorous和during moderate to vigorous physical exertion
I eat a big apple 和I eat an apple that is big。我想楼主不会去选择第二种说法吧。
所以意思相同，而明显后者更加直接明了。能够简单的说明为什么要去选一个更为复杂的句式呢？
