关于名词形式，Gerund(V-ing做名词)&Verbal noun(如destruction)的问题

这道题答案为B
其他错误点都明白，就是his translation he/ translating 不懂
Ron 讲过 V-ing 作名词表示1. personal 的含义，即是主语本身去做这件事
2. 这句话用来解释v-ing 的步骤和过程
translation 这一类的词表示主语和这件事有联系但是不直接参与做这件事。

我觉得这题很明显就是这个翻译家自己翻译的作品，所以应该用translating 才对啊？？
我猜测是不是因为transkation 前有his, 所以也表达了personal 的含义？但是不是很确定
有没有大神可以解答！！！

我覺得
（Ｂ）In 1713, Alexander Pope began his translation of the Illiad
（Ｄ）In 1713, Alexander Pope began translating the Illiad
Ｄ不管怎麼看都像過去進行式。而且a work應該是要講他的翻譯作品，而不是Ｉ那本原著吧
另外，我其實是用it as 才排除掉Ｄ選項的

这个句子D 和B结构不一样。

第一B的主语是translation , Samuel的评论和耗时七年是两个并列从句修饰那个translation （That took him 7 years and that Smuel pronounced ....）。

D主语是原著illiad, illiad 耗时7年改变原文意思。其次(Samuel)
Pronounce it as，这里加了个it, 破坏了从句的句式。这里不管是想说原著还是说翻译工作，都不能加it。
