看了下例句 A NUMBER OF dogs ARE barking. THE NUMBER OF dogs IS large.
似乎的意思是说 如果是用 the number of 后面就要用单数形式的动词 可是这里为什么答案E选项给出的是express
而且指出了D选项应该改成 end up呢?

想了一下 是因为who/that 引导的都是从句修饰guests 后面没有具体的动词 所以都以guests为核心词吗？
