G750 迷茫求定位

G 750, T 未考，非985非211，GPA低
6年工作经验，2年Wind River 嵌入式, 4年Nokia (原Alcatel-Lucent)通信/云计算领域，4年研发，2年项目管理

之前的想法是CEIBS转VC or MBA Program，考到750后想试一下美国的学校~
这样的背景能申到什么学校呢？北美的MBA相比CEIBS在国内发展方面有哪些优势呢

个人感觉，LZ如果一直打算在国内发展，其实中欧就行，毕竟人脉都在国内，而且起点也还挺高的，又可以读个在职。

因为越做越觉得技术没兴趣 _(:з」∠)_
最近几年反而更喜欢协调沟通推进项目

VC呢，认识一些的小伙伴，觉得接触新创公司、分析市场，这样的节奏和工作很有意思。依托技术背景转主投科技相关的VC貌似也可行，所以有意VC
技术相关的话，好似可以对接一些外企的MBA program，Finoa了解这个方面吗？
在职MBA担心的是起不到转行的作用，国内在职的有什么推荐嘛？

哦，倒是也可以呢，我知道有不少做技术的都转去做风控了。

有些外企是有MBA program的，我不是很了解，好像Amazon就有，像consumer leadershuo development program...不过和技术不是特别相关。要想和技术相关，还得好好找下.

中欧的话，只要人脉可以，在职也能转行呢，还有长江，上海交大安泰等。国内其他研究性的大学学校，尽量还是full-time，毕竟暑假还能有个internship可以过渡下。

纯属个人拙见~

转行的话全职肯定几率大一些，代价却也不小，自己也在犹豫~

嗯，确实，得考虑全面些，机会成本很大，要去北美更是。。

I’d love to help you out but without more info it’s gonna be hard. Where do you work? What do you do? How quickly have you advanced? Do you have any leadership? What are your great achievements? Do you have notable community service or extra curriculars? Which school did you graduate from?

This is all very important because for M7 schools a 750 is AWESOME but not enough. the competition is still very tough. and yes, you have the right GMAT, but now I need to understand what else you have. Anyhow, dont worry! If its not M7 it’s S16!! And all those schools are great too!

As for your question regarding Europe: Actually I think they are on similar levels, but the question you should be asking yourself more is Where do you want to live? Do you want to do a 1-year or 2-year program?

Thanks a lot for your reply!! And sorry forthe insufficient information, please get more details from below:

Motivation:

Better career, differentlife and more possibilities.

With 6 years software development related experience, I find that I'm more exceited of mamangement work and, via commnuication with friends in VC, I'm very intrested in VC industry.

So companies with MBA program such as Microsoft and high-technology oriented Venture Capital are my goals after MBA.

For family issues, I'd like to work in China after MBA graduated. And I planned to study in CEIBS in Shanghai because it costs only 1 year and has a well connections with companies in Chian Mainland.

But studying in US is awlways one of my unfullfiled wish, and the GMAT score gives me hope.

With your questiones, I realize that M7 is impossible for me because of the tight schedule and my poor background.

Could you please give me some advice about the S16 schools?

GMAT: 750

TOFEL: has no score so far

Education: ShenZhen University, Computer Science and Technology, GPA less than 3

Work Experience: 6 years in Beijing

2 Years in Wind River - Android device and tabletdesign for Intel

4 Years in Alcatel-Lucent which has mergedwith Nokia -

Deliver Wireless Tele-communication product to Verizon, Sprint, Orange and T-Mobile.

Work in Cloud-computing project after merging.

Have ever been responsible of quality control management for 2 years.

Leadership:

I have no leadership recently because of changes caused by merging, and have ever lead a test team for 2 years.

Greatest Achievement:

Delivered carrier aggregation implementation in time to Orange, a critical feature to LTE network provider.

In this project, I ensured the successfully implementation and played an important rule in management affairs.

Notable community service or extra curriculars: no

Hey there!
Well I think you can try some M7 schools but I agree that S16 is more reasonable. Partly because of your lack of leadership. But I think the most important thing for you right now just to think about how to present your story in your essays. Meaning the worst thing that you can do is to present yourself as an IT person. And the best thing you can do is to present yourself as a leader team member and businessman. So that's the perspective you need to show the admissions committee. I think you can apply to Chinese school and European schools and American schools without a problem. On the other hand about your goals, if you don't have any financing experience, I would suggest you change your goals to moving up to IT management. The reason is that VC jobs are very sought after, and very rare. Now this does not mean that you can't do it in real life, but for a goal for your MBA it's not really the best.
