(D) Neuroscientists have amassed a wealth of knowledge over the past twenty years about the brain and its development from birth to adulthood,
(E) Neuroscientists have amassed, over the past twenty years, a wealth of knowledge about the brain and its development from birth to adulthood,

这题正确答案选A，存在两个时态一个是由 over the past twenty years 引导的现在完成时，一个是由now引导的现在时，所以出现了时间断层，doing不能表示伴随，又不能表示整句话的结果，所以doing形式只能做修饰。

根据以前做到的题，如果选D的话，drawing 修饰的是逻辑主语，也就是本句的主语neuroscientists，我不觉得有什么问题。一定要说错的话，只能说是接近adulthood 这个名词，产生了歧义。
我的问题是如果这句话是这样的：
Neuroscientists， now drawing solid conclusions about how the human brain grows and how babies acquire language，have amassed a wealth of knowledge over the past twenty years about the brain and its development from birth to adulthood。
那么是不是对的呢？
再引申一个问题：
主句，修饰语,doing
当修饰语最后有名词紧贴着doing，此处的doing的修饰对象指代不明？
排除上述情况，doing永远修饰句子主语？

DE的错误不是改变了句子重心，而是DE强调的重心不合逻辑。第一遍通读句子的时候，我们可以发现这个句子里有三个元素，元素1.神经学家
元素2.在过去的二十年里积攒了很多关于大脑的知识
元素3.得出了一个xx结论
在这里我们不应该以任何一句表达出来的意思为标准(有一些同学认为A句即是原句，不能随便改动其意思，其实A相对于其他四个选项并没有特殊地位)，而应该用自己的常识和逻辑来判断这三个元素应该如何组合，当然，用ABCDE五个选项辅助理解也是必要的。在本题中，我们可能纠结如下两个选择，
选择1，元素2修饰元素3，
选择2，元素3修饰元素2。
【也有人可能会考虑元素1和元素2是否应该并列，即用and将1和2连接。Ron大神说过，用and将两个元素连接意味着这两个元素之间并没有逻辑上的联系，举例， 1.我在路上遇到了堵车，and我迟到了，意味着堵车和我的迟到并没有直接联系，迟到是其他因素导致的。
2.我在路上遇到了堵车，resulting我的迟到。意味着正是堵车导致了我的迟到。本题中元素1和元素2有明显的逻辑联系，所以用and并不合适，而且从结构错误上也很容易排除使用and的选项，因此不做过多讨论。】
那么问题来了，从逻辑上看，是
1.【神经学家得出了一个xx结论】，修饰了【神经学家在过去的二十年里积攒了很多关于大脑的知识】，
还是
2.【神经学家在过去的二十年里积攒了很多关于大脑的知识】，修饰了【神经学家得出了一个xx结论】？

显然是后者。所以我们排除DE两个选项，是因为他们不合逻辑，而不是因为修改了句子重心。

就像我之前说的做SC切忌钻牛角尖，SC并不是考你哪个句子语法对不对，而是考你能不能挑一个表达最舒服的句子。
楼主把原题的选项稍作修改，改成了 Neuroscientists， now drawing solid conclusions about how the human brain grows and how babies acquire language，have amassed a wealth of knowledge over the past twenty years about the brain and its development from birth to adulthood. 显然这个句子从语法上一丁点毛病都挑不出来，但是这个句子表达的意思明显比本题的正确选项别扭很多。
