还有就是until后面能不能只加doing？比如until healing还是until it heals？？

这句话里省略不算错，因为不会造成歧义。
The new SUV uses gas more quickly than the small sedan.可以表示1 The new SUV uses gas more quickly than the small sedan does. 2 The new SUV uses gas more quickly than the new suv uses the small sedan. 2显然不合逻辑，所以不会有歧义。

I am older than you (are).
括号中的are被省略。
因为句子中you和I相对应，并且只有这两个名词，不会引起歧义。
