Dear XXX, Thank you for your message and your interest in our MBA programme.
The job questions are not essays. Hence, the number of words is not so important. People have to be comfortable writing 3 lines or 20. Some applicants work for companies that are well known and only 3 lines are sufficient to describe them, others for small companies where it is more important to give the full picture. However, for the five motivational essays, each one has a maximum word limit, which is stated under each essay box. The word count updates itself when you navigate outside the text box. You will not be stopped if you exceed the word limit. While it is acceptable to exceed by about 10%, however, word limits are there as part of a summarizing exercise. It is important to try and complete each essay within the limit as this shows your ability to prioritise information and describe it concisely.
