工科男渣背景求定位&建议

小弟工科背景，化工类专业，普通本科+专业top综合25左右的985硕士，GPA3.4/4.0。
化工行业三年半经验，主要面对汽车行业的BD与MKT；但公司非500强，领域内top行业综合40左右，比较boutique。
计划申请17年北美MBA，但是看看自己软硬背景属于一抓一大把，因此打算在工作经历和GT方面增加竞争力。另外自己一直期待需要快速学习和快速成长的工作，也还蛮有自信，post-MBA目前想法是management consulting。
关于工作经历，自己闷头想的两种方案：

a. 现在就想办法转行到consulting工作；
b. 继续留在industry行业里但换到big name公司最好是有管理职能的位置上

因此想请教大家几个问题，

1. 以楼主现在的背景有没有可能通过experience hire进到management consulting？没想过MBB，但是在汽车和化工行业三年工作经验对进到Tier2或者四大的咨询能否有帮助？还是应该彻底死心继续滚去制造业..
2.相比于更资深的industry背景，industry+consulting的工作经历在申请TOP30的学校方面有没有什么优势？以前有看到前辈经验讲，如果不是big name的consulting，不如扎实的实业经历有效；但是不知道复合的背景在consulting的pool里会不会更有竞争力？
3. 请问如果申请S16的学校GT需要达到什么水平？私心还是想申请一个排名高一些的学校

2. 要看怎么复合，top corporate+top consulting当然有竞争力，如果是非top corporate+非top consulting和纯top consulting比，不好说

Good to hear from you and I can understand your dilemma. Let me start by answering your specific questions.

1. If management consulting interests you, you should try. They take people from every background usually. Of course the better the firm you join, the better your chances will be.

2. Like you write, it depends on where you get an offer from. It’s not necessarily true that consulting is ALWAYS better than industry or the other way around - but the job with more money, more leadership, and more opportunities to learn and advance int he direction you want to go is the right one.

3. 720 or more.

多谢大神前辈指点！
自己闷头纠结了半天，评估了一下估计转到top consulting难度比较大，那么还是努力在industry的pool里面站出来吧。
