1. The Centenial Exposition,  _____ in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania , in 1876, celebrated the one-hundredth anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
A. was held
B  held
答案是B, 但我认为A 也可以, "celebrated the one-hundredth anniversary of the Declaration of Independence"做状语, "was held"做谓语, 也应可以呀, 请指道

2.The planets far from the sun are ( so remote from) any heat ( source )  that their temperatures are ( thought ) to be ( much near ) absolute zero.
答案是D, 但我认为副词much修饰形容词near是对的呀??? why iit is incorrect?

1。The Centenial Exposition which was held in in Philadelphia .....
这里省略了 which was，要省略一起省略的，不可以省略一半的
2。之后的absolute是形容词。
我的语法不太好，我是这样理解的

1) Te be"做状语" here---> celebrating ,not V+ed
2) , near is an adv here, not adj.
e.g. They moved house to be nearer the school.

1. 通读全句,可以看出主干是the contenial exposition celebrated... 中间是插入语,B held 是过去分词做定语,redpassion兄弟说得对,要么是which was held,要么是held, 不能用was held.

2.much near------> much nearer. much应该是修饰比较级才对.
