Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Nowadays it is easier to maintain good health than in the past.
In recent days, people always face such a question that are we more healthier than people in the past? Many people might give a positive answer because they think the development of technology and medical have made people much more easier to maintain health than people in the past. However, I think this conclusion is quite flawed. Because it is meaningless to say that the longer people live, the healthier they are.
First and foremost, people are facing much more pressure than ever before. We have to work day and night in order to earn a lot of money . Even on weekends, some people still have to work. As a result, they don't have time to do some sports and relax themselves. They under pressure everyday and even can't fall asleep in the night. That is the reason why more and more people become obesity. Therefore, it is much more difficult for people to maintain health.
Secondly, the city become more crowded and the air is not fresh any more. The street is full of people and we spend much time on our way to work or go home. I still remember that when I was young, the sky is always blue and the street is clean. Nevertheless, all the beautiful scene is no longer exist any more. We respire dirty air, we get exhausted everyday, we feel unhappy. In my opinion, all of those bad conditions make people harder to maintain health.
What's more, it is true that people today live longer than ever before. But live longer does not mean we are more healthier. Because the medical method has improved in the past years, it makes us to live longer even we have disease which would make us dead in the past. Last but not least, much of the people in recent days don't have a health diet. We go to bed late and get up late, we don't like to eat vegetables but are crazy about chips or coke. To make matters worse, we drink and smoke. Those habitats would make us weak and easier to get sick.
All in all, it is much more difficult for people to maintain health in nowadays. We should focus mor on our health rather than work or study. We should force ourselves to exercise, sometimes go hiking in order to get fresh air. Although the medical science has developed a lot, we still have to concern our own health. |
