145. Do advertisements promote
things we do not need or products that may improve our lives.

    

                                     

    

Nowadays, the global society and economy are developing every second,
advertisements are playing an increasing significant role in people’s lives. It’s
no doubt that we could find advertisements in everywhere of our daily life,
such as, newspapers, magazines, telecasts, and the list will be endless.
Whether the advertisements promote things we do not need or products that may
improve our lives is a complex and controversial question. For my part, I
concur with latter opinion.

    

 

    

As we all know, that advertisements are being accepted an
indispensable part of modern life is a fact. It is advertisements that let us
keep abreast with the latest fashion. It is advertisements that make modern
products be able to spread all over the world quickly. It is advertisements
that have us hear of the novelties. In my view, the best pro is that the
majority of advertisements are optional. Whenever we’d like to know the trends,
we can easily get that from advertisements, otherwise, no one will oblige us to
watch them. A recent survey conducted by Fu Dan University, one of the most
noted universities in China,
a considerable number of people purchase useful things because of the advertisements.

    

 

    

Nevertheless, as proverb goes “no garden without weed.” The advertisements
also produce some negative influence on our lives. According to plenty of
reports of conducted by the mass media, a number of innocent people are coaxed
to fall victims to the false advertisements every year. Most of them spent
their hard-earned bucks to buy some white elephants. Some types of
advertisements also have adverse impacts on the healthy development of our
younger generations.

    

 

    

Even if, many the advertisements are exaggerative, misleading and
false, to my mind, deny the contribution of advertisements definitely is not a
rational and practical  idea but a
radical one. We have to acknowledge objectively that a modern world without
advertisements is truly unimaginable. To great extents, the advertisements help
us to ameliorate our lives a lot.
