The issue that whether students should take one year to go on a trip or go to work before entering university is a complex and controversial problem. Some people prefer that it is beneficial for them to spend one year on traveling or working because they are able to widen their view and accumulate some working experiences. As far as I am concerned, I am in favor that students should go to university directly instead of taking one year to travel or to work.

                                                        

First of all, it is apparent that taking one year to travel or to work is to some extent a waste of time. Students should go to university to learn advanced knowledge in certain area and to make friends with other people. During the nice campus life,they not only acquire a lot of useful knowledge but also build their interpersonal networks. All of these play a great important role in their future life. As a matter of fact, some students often do some part time jobs after school to enhance their pratical abilities. Also in summer or winter vocation, students could make a trip to some place they like. So there is no need for us to put a whole year into traveling or working. We should do our utmost to study in campus and get along well with other people.

 

 

Secondly, it is inevitably difficult for students to adapt to campus life after a year from school. As is often the case, students are likely to forget some knowledge they have learned previously. So when they go back to school they find that they are unable to keep up with the pace in school learning. For intance, one of my friend did not go to college directly after graduating from high school. Instead she has taken a job as a book sailor for one year. As a result, she was forced to make an great effort to review all the science knowledge such as math ,phisics and the like because she has forgotten much of them. Even so she still felt that it was  difficult for her to adjust to school life. So compared with counterparts who go to college directly, indivuduals like my friend more or less have difficulties to adapt to the learning life in college.

 

 

Finally, before learning some special knowledge in university, students tend to do some job or visit some place aimlessly. By contrast, after they have a better understanding of their profession, they are able to choose jobs suit their interests and thus exert the knowledge they have learned into practice. All of these will be unavailable without acquiring some knowledge in university. In order to work with a definite goal, we should take the first step to go to university.

 

 

In sum, considering all the disadvantags regarding traveling or working for a whole year, I personally support that it is imprudent for us to go on a trip or to go to work before entering university. So the best choice for us is to go to university directly to enjoy the comfortable life in beautiful campus!
