TWE002    Are parents the best teachers?

Are parents the best teachers? Though, obviously, parents are the most involved and concerned in the development and education of their offspring. However, it can hardly appropriate to say that parents are the best teachers. And parents, probably in most of the cases, may not the best teachers. I will clarify my reasons as follow.

First of all, not all parents are good teachers. As normal individuals, some parents more or less have some bad habits, such as drinking, smoking or even gambling. Although they may instinctively devote themselves to the cultivation of their offspring, children may unconsciously or subconsciously copy everything from their parents include some bad ones. And some parents lack common sense of education. Some of them even indulge their children for their over love. I have a real concrete instance happened nearby me. The boy lived in the same courtyard with me. Everyone of the yard knows that how much the boy's mother loves him. She did not permit anyone to hurt her son, though in most cases, it was her son virtually the bully. One day, not before long, my mother told me that he killed some one, and was sent into prison. Actually, I was not too surprised to hear that, and we all know that it was virtually his mother who let it happened.

Furthermore, although some parents are good teachers, they are probably not the best one. We live in a world that knowledge is accumulated by multiplying and at the same time more and more specialized. Parents may, though can teach us a lot, they can not be experts in all fields. We still need, probably all through our life, to learn from professional teachers, friends, experiences and society. 

Admittedly, parents play an essential role in cultivation and development of their children. And they the earliest and the most concerned teachers of their children. Psychologists have shown us that the love of the parents some times have astonishingly magic power to their children. Forest Gump's mother and Zhou Zhou's parents are good examples. Some parents, nevertheless, do their children harm rather than bad teachers. The example I give above has show this. So, all in all, parents are really important teachers to their children, however, it is arbitrary to simply to say that parents are the best teachers.
