I am currently in Umich. Of course it is not that good when compared with UCB, NYU, UChicago, Stanford, etc., but i think it's ok. Indeed UChicago NYU requires VERY high in math, the other MFE programs not requires so much on it, at least in the application process. So it may be not proper when you say "Most of the MFE...", which will frustrate many people. It is really hard to tell which aspect they expect, they just want to accept those who have the potential or have the passion to this field. Of course, to show your potential and passion, you should prove it with your transcript, ps, and rl. There is no definite criterion about it. You just should evaluate yourself to see whether you really want to pursue these jobs in the future and whether you are really suitable for this kind of job. |
