19 Fall MBA/BA 选校求大家帮忙指导

大家好，我是打算今年申请明年入学的，目前的情况GRE：159 +170 +4
本科在新加坡读的系统工程，concentration是business analytics，是first class，gpa：4.53/5
之前在康奈尔读了一个engineering的master，major in operation research，gpa：3.8/4
现在在新加坡工作两年，在一个东南亚还算知名的e-commerce company做data analyst，现在是Senior，年底升assisstant manager。

为什么已经读完一个研究生，工作了两年，还要再去读研究生：
我觉得人在每个阶段想要的东西都不一样吧。两年前自己不是很成熟，很多事情和选择也没有想的很透彻。在现在的公司工作两年之后感觉遇到了瓶颈，一方面想要再往纯技术的方向走自己背景确实也不够硬，想要是往general operation发展的话又觉得心有不甘。所以想来想去觉得想要再读个书，既可以换一个地方，也可以在职业选择上上一个台阶。

目前心仪的项目：
1. MIT的Master of Business Anlytics: 因为是商学院下所以会比较有多样性（我猜）。但是感觉本科GPA不够高会成为短板被卡掉。
2. Duke的Master of Quantitative Management: 也是因为是商学院所以倾心，但是看课程设置感觉一般。。？
2. 西北的Master of Science in Analytics
3. Stanford的Master in Management Science and Engineering


目前来说我感觉自身的短板主要在于本科GPA太低，以及推荐信不是很好找（离开学校太久已经跟教授没什么connection了）。
工作之后面临各种各样的问题和选择，想再申请也不是一个轻松地决定。从现在开始准备，希望也不会太晚。

我是看了MIT那个项目录取过的人，发现清一色的3.9，3.95，3.99，所以感觉会成为硬伤
说实话感觉现在工作才两年，申请MBA的话有点担心不太够资格。目前比较倾心的就是商学院开设的BA，但查了查感觉项目真的很少。。。

之前在康奈尔上课的时候也跟商学院一起上过课。感觉大家普遍年纪比较大，有比较多的工作经验，多多少少感觉希望不太大呢。所以目前最倾心开在商学院的BA项目，既跟我的背景match一些，而且也有一些新的exposure><

Thank you! Given your profile, I think you should try to increase your GRE if possible. You mentioned MBS, but it appears you're applying to more focused programs, which is great. These are all top schools/programs, so my main advice would be to add in a few stools that aren't as competitive for those particular focus areas/degrees you mentioned. Good luck!

Thank you for your reply! Just wondering based on your experience do you see my current score a shortcoming? I think it will cost me too much to do GRE again (there are so many words to remember >< )
Actually do you mind sharing what are the importance of all components when applying for MBA (GPA, GRE/GMAT, working experience, ref)?

Sure! GPA is weighted about 40%, GMAT 80% in terms of academics. Work tenure, brand name company - both important. References a little less important. Essay/goals are most important and your score. I'd say take a shot! You can always reapply as many do Good luck!
