Both are no doubt the best two b-schools for those who wanna step into finance industry (hedge fund, private equity and other buy side investments, investment banking, financial engineering, research, trading, private banking, etc) or stay in New York City with a decent job (no matter finance, consulting, marketing, sales, general management or media).
Generally NYU Stern is as phenomenal if not more than Columbia B-School in finance, marketing and media, and is slightly outperformed by CBS in consulting and general management.
When we are talking about alumni networks of CBS and NYU Stern, not Columbia and NYU, they appear to be at absolute same level (Warrent Buffet v.s. Alan Greenspan, Sallie Krawcheck v.s. Dick Fuld, Henry Kravis v.s. Arthur Zeikel, Rochelle Lazarus v.s. Tom Freston, ...). Stern's outperforms by scale (62000 v.s. 32000) due to a longer history and a larger executive program. |
