I am now doing research on the essay questions asked by the business schools targeted. I noted that, by comparing the questions of previous years with those of year 2008, the questions the schools ask vary from year to year. Take Wharton as an example: the essays questions for 2008 entry are: 1. career progress to date + career goals(both short and long term ones) + Why Wharton MBA + Why now 2. failure or setback 3. a situation in which you were an outsider (kinda confused with this one, being an outsider is one type of failure, isn't it?) 4. Leadership or anything else to share with adcom The Wharton questions for 2006 (collected from CD_MBA_Interview_2006) 1. career progress to date + career goals+ Why Wharton MBA + Why now - SAME as 2008 2. Impact on others - DIFFERENT than 008 3. Ethical Dilema - DIFFERENT than 008 4. Personal background - DIFFERENT than 008 My questions are, 1. Is there any standard the schools gonna follow when defining the essay questions from one year to another? 2. When shall we MBA candidate start to consider the preparation of essay questions? Many thanks for your kind answers... |
