It depends on how you see it. In terms of graduate placement, maybe lower than Top30. In terms of student publication, it's definitely within Top20.
In terms of publication record in general, 5th-10th in the world I think.

Liang is sharp. He made some good points. Maybe some consulting or services to the society sounds cool. But for now, they should not be your aim, nor your motivation for PhD. The only legitimate motivation for pursuing a phd is research.
PS. HKUST may have publication record in par with top 10-20ish school. But its phd program is far from even top 30.

真扯淡。。Chicago,MIT,Stanford,Columbia,NYU,Wharton,Kellogg,Duke,Yale,UCB,USC,UMN,UCLA,INSEAD,UMD,UFL这里面哪个不比HKUST的publication record好？数一数都快20个了

没听说过有二面哦 我一个人都面了一下午，还是过去食宿全包的~ 再二面我估计他们要屎了。不过话说找我要了飞机票的发票为什么到现在还没给我报销，我忐忑啊

不一定，这是典型北美中心论，HKUST research比好多北美校强多了，更不要说GUO了，比大多数北美年轻ANALYTICAL MODELERS 都强
