小女子给各位大神请安。求定位学校和专业。
本科加拿大前5大学,学的是金融,每年奖学金以及dean's honor l ...

why not wait for 2 more year and then go for MBA then?

it seems that you are not targeting for a technical master like MFE / accounting (MSF don't count as so), and thus on the soft side, MBA help you the most in terms of flexibiity......
and expect personal reason, I dont see any urgent point that you must go to US for study now.

kind of tradeoff......if the job is not tiring, tons of US local people will be chasing for it (unless it is a difficult one like STEM), and chances will no longer be there for international students.

if wanna MSF......well, switching to finance is not that easy, and indeed if you wanna switch to finance, why not work for 2 more year and then go for MBA directly instead?

because i am a girl who is now 24 yrs old. i need to finish my education fast and settle down. i w ...

Indeed business education is for those who have experience but not best suit for fresh graduate, especially when you have a bachelor in business related subject (e.g. some MiM do not consider BBA/BCom).

24 is still young and have lots of time.........well, this is kind of personal life so I won't comment too much on this.

well, if you simply want a name from a well-regarded school and leverage the name in order to find a good role back in China, consider various MiM from S16 (e.g. Duke, Kellogg and etc....definitly like 3 or 4 more but I forgot). Choice of MSF is very very limited (only MIT, as Princeton one is way more academic). Some professional econ master (like UCLA, NYU, Nichigan Ann Arbor) may be also of your interested, and 1st to 2nd tier MFE. 1st-2nd tier business school in US seldom offer master in accounting (I can only think of the new one in NYU). Similar level school from UK maybe also of your interest too, e.g. LBS, LSE.

Toronto is a good school, but I don't think they have a good program that suit you well too. MA Econ is too acadmeics, MS Fina require at least 2 year working experience, MMF needs more mathematics, maybe the MS Fina Econ fits a bit but I am not sure if you have enough economics or not; not quite sure about accounting. Actually kind of similar for all good school in North America as the education phil is kind of similar: postgrad finance, soft side go MBA, 3 year of w.e., pre-experience master is either technical / academical.

If you wanna stay in US for a job, either:
1. go technical, find a CS master, or at least some statistics or whatevere STEM stuffs, or accounting.
2. get more experience first, and do a M7 (or at least S16, or some regional top like UT Austin) MBA. Soft major with 1 or 2 year experience are not safe enough unless you have a green card.

btw, what is M7 (=magic 7) what is S16?

Thanks

M7 and S16 are MBA terms, same logic apply for professional MS in US as MS is never the flagship program in US business school and thus no one care their ranking.
