In 20 years from now on, students will not use printed books anymore.
In this age, an epoch of modernazation, people spend more time in facing an screen than people in previous time. The invention of electric medium such laptop and cellphone does give a great convinience to people in 21st century. It is often the case that we take an ipad with us and read books stored in it anytime and anywhere. Many schools are also trying to catch up with the period. In some palces students are asked to take nothing but an ipad to school, which relieves them from the heavy books. But if ask me whether students will totally abandon printed books in 20 years, my answer is no. My consideration will be demonstrated as follows.
Granted, it is environmental friendly to throw printed books away, cause wood is an necessary ingredient of paper. Every year millions of areas of forest disappeared for the production of paper. However, as long as we pay enough attention to the recycle of useless paper, the problem will be sovled. On the other hand, the problem caused by these electric mediums can not be omitted easily.
firstly, focusing on a screen do harm to people's eyes, and the case is especially severe for children. Many sience researches have proved that the radio sprum of screen of computers and cellphones is the main cause of dry-eyes and . I uses to be obessed with computer games and spent most of day in front of computer, whose outcome is that I have to wear glasses everyday. Therefore it is hard to imagine what would happen if students had to face endless screens in their study and leisure time. Eventually the convinince brought by electric mediums would be compensated for the inconvinence cauesd by eye dieases.
In the second place, it is common for students to refer to some old materials for their study. Every time I wrote papers the first thing is to go to the library to find related books. Surely this will happen to students 20years later too. It is not possible that all the books are tranformed into electric versions in 20 years. Some old books are of good value for the classic ideas and limited munber of them. Totally abandoning these printed books is kind of a waste of souce.
Ultimately, printed books will still be part of school life even though they may not be as important as before.
