1.Describe a custom from your country that you would like people from other countries to adopt. Explain your choice, using specific reasosn and examples.

  I would like to be an ambassador of Spring Festival. Spring Festival is a prominent custom in my country. It has history contents and helps bring people together. My reasons to be an ambassdor of the Spring Festival are shown below:

I will always get pocket money from my relatives on the Spring Festival eve. It’s a good traditition. The kids will feel particularly happy when the Spring Festival comes. Usually,kids buy the toys and stuffs they’ve longed for. And most importantly, the kids will always save the money as a result. For example, I donate my pocket money to the orphans in Africa. The pocket money tradition,  which is part of the Spring Festival, helps foster happiness for kids, and inspires them to utilize money in a legitimate way.

The other aspect ot the Spring Festival is very attractive because it’s a opportunity for family to gather together. Even though a lot countires have similar celebration, the Chinese Spring Festival is unique because we not only celebate with our family members but also with neighbors. Usually,the neighboors will come by with gifts and wish us a prosperous new year. This part of the Spring Festival is very beneficial and positive. The Spring Festival is not a simply family gathering but also a social bonding with neighboors and new friends.

And lastly, I want to talk about the fireworks in the Spring Festival. There is one saying：Playing fireworks help the family get rid of bad lucks. People from different places will purchase fireworks. On the Spring Festival eve, people light the fireworks and theywon’t feel dark. Instead, they feel like they are in carnivals. Can you imagine the “bright dark sky” because of the fireworks? The fireworks represent a hope for the future and reflect Chinese people’s optimism.

          To put all these reasons into one nutshell, I love the Spring Festival because of its uniqueness, liveness and happiness. I will try my best to be a liasion between my own culture and other culture. And I will be particularly intersted in spreading the custom of the Spring Festival.
