129)    A university plans to develop a new research center in your country. Some people want a center for business research. Other people want a center for research in agriculture (farming). Which of these two kinds of research centers do you recommend for your country? Use specific reasons in your recommendation.

When a university plan to develop a new research center, it is difficult to deny that both business and agriculture have their places. Those who prefer the former plan say that business is the key element of economic growth. While, those who advocate the latter argue that agriculture is the fundamental point of economic development. Personally, I side with the latter. Of the countless reasons or facts that can strengthen my viewpoints, I regard population structure, social safety and sustainable development as the most consequential and conspicuous ones here.

The fist plain truth, I am presenting here, is that building an agriculture center can feed majority of Chinese people according to population structure. Establishing an agriculture center will not fail to be a wiser and safer choice, as people who live in the rural area take almost 70% of the whole national population in our country. They heavily reply on cultivating and harvesting plants and crops to support their own lives as well as to make extra money from supplying the urban area. An agriculture center will research and spread newly proven technology to optimize the yield of annual harvest. Accordingly, so great is our passion for feeding our nation, that we are becoming increasingly more dependent on agriculture research center. As a case in point, convinced of the importance of each people having a good meal, the Chinese Northeast University invest in setting up an agriculture research and get back huge achievement of providing crops necessities in the fierce winter. Hence, the most striking conclusion is obvious that developing an agriculture research center benefits our country greatly.

In addition, behind my preference that agriculture research center ensure the majority of people’s life necessity, so my opinion lies an equally important fact that such plan leads to social safety. On no account can we deny the importance of social safety in the 21st century. Statistical reports reveal that the crime rate goes down as the harvest situation turns well in the autumn when the typical harvest season comes. If the university establishes an agriculture center, it is no doubt that the research results will play an essential role on the agriculture industry progressively. In order to do so, we have no alternative but to set up an agriculture center.

Last but not least, develop an agriculture research center is beneficial to sustainable development of our country. Only make sure the fundamental demand of national people, can we put more efforts on other aspects. The more people own the necessity to hold a life, the more momentum we get to enrich our people.

In conclusion, despite some advantages of what a business center brings us, establishing an agriculture center is instrumental rather than detrimental to our country. It will benefit us in life necessity, social safety, and also sustainable development. Thus, we should start to develop an agriculture center as soon as possible, however hard it may be at the moment.
