这个题的答案是D  为什么B没有错呢？

tended to     suffer from    and eat  都是prehistoric villagers 的动词, 为什么他们的时态却不一样呢?    tended to work harder 如果是省略句， 那它省掉了什么？  什么情况下才能省略呀！！
