I don't agree.
   First, I'm not sure why does the ranking needed to be scaled by the # of faculty member? this is the ranking of overall faculty productivity not average  productivity of faculty . more faculty-> student have more choice. I don't see any bias here.
   Second, this is the overall ranking of the management school,not a ranking by major. It tries to measure the overall productivity of the  management school. Because of this, I would say it is very fair to list Yale as the 38th since they don't have some majors. This is Yale's fault, not ranking's fault or biased.
   Third, point is well taken. however, they only choose a little bit more OM and IS journal,  which is 4 (8/2)journals per major. For marketing, finance, acct, it is 3.33 (10/3)   journals per major.  Although there are some bias, I don't see too much.
   BTW, although they are kind of close, OM and IS are still two majors not one. Don't mislead     readers implicitly.
   BTW, in finance, we only consider JF, RFS and JFE are top journal for tenures review. thus, I  think choosing 3 journals in finance is pretty fairy . I don't know other majors.

第一，没有按照faculty人数scale。这种排名，闭着眼睛都能猜到wharton和nyu这种狂屯老师的学校会排的很靠前。不过mit表示压力不大，我们人少。

第二，没有考虑有的学校缺少部分专业。yale只有三个专业，所以最后排到了38，但是明眼人都知道，前面起码有25个学校在yale有的专业里面是不如yale的。

第三，选择的journal不均衡。utdallas的om和is很强，所以这个排名里边选了8个这方面的journal，而fin，act，mkt三个大系一共才10个journal。如果你只选择om和is的8个journal，05-09utdallas能排第3，如果你选择fin，act，mkt的10个journal，utdallas只能排第43，而最后全加在一起排到17。

anyway，任何排名都有bias，这东西就是个参考。

First, if u apply to a school, do u partially consider its overall ranking or reputation?
Second, Whether it is meaningful or not, the point is it is not a biased ranking.

你说的overall ranking对申PhD的学生没有任何意义，因为任何申PhD的只是申其中的一个major,而不会考虑overall如何。
