应Zeros的要求写一下我申请TULANE MSF的过程.
我属于申请比较晚的,12月底考完GMAT,之后才开始选学校.很多学校这时候都差不多截止了.等准备好其他材料快递寄出都已经1月底.
选择TULANE的MSF主要是因为这个PRO是为了没有工作经验的大学本科毕业生设计,而且有一个非常先进的金融实验室.当时也没仔细考虑过学费和地理位置等其他问题.
后来与那里一个中国留学生联系过,他对TULANE的介绍比较详细.引用如下,以供大家参考:
Finance is the strongest program at our business school, and there are plenty of choices among more than 20 electives. The fundamental courses such as Financial Modeling, Corporate Valuation, Fix Income, and Risk Management will laid a solid foundation to your financial knowledge, and the practical courses such as Burken Reports and Darwen Franklin Fund will provide you hand-on experience of conducting security research and portfolio management. Finance courses are my favorite.
4 MSFs from China graduated in 2005, and one landed a job at Gaohua at Shanghai, the other three have not reported any information about placement. In 2005, 2 cheese were admitted, but then transferred to the MBA progran at University of California at Irvine after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans. So there are no Chinese MSF studying at Freeman now.
Chinese MSF graduate earlier than 2004 have sucured jobs in Singapore Goldman Sachs and Beijing Merry Lynch. The employment situation for Chinese now, as shown from last year's Chinese MSFs, is still tough, but varies according to your back ground.
High grades of GMAT and Toefl are necessary. As the school closed during Fall, 2005 due to Katrina, year 2006, I believe, will be easier than past to get admission.
材料寄出两天后就收到对方的确认MAIL,以及电话面试的要求.
匆忙地准备了一下,和对方约好时间(半夜11点半).电话的面试气氛很轻松,问的问题也都很常规,聊得也还算不错.
再后来我去实习了,就再没关注过,也一直没有消息.
因为我的GMAT成绩出了点问题,说什么也寄不过去.后来也收到两个OFFER,就没再想过TULANE的事.能收到AD实在是很喜出望外.不过实在是贵了啊,不打算去了....
有一点感受吧,就是和对方多联系,有什么问题都可以和他们说.我拿到OFFER的学校,GMAT成绩全没能寄过去,都是让学校打电话帮忙查的.感觉美国人还是比较好商量的.
最后说下我的背景,金融专业,一般学校,T&G都不高,但拿过美国ICM的奖.可能这点帮助很大.
