我的问题是：这里的according to scientists who 。。。这个短语修饰不到主句后的第二句吗？
求大家帮忙！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！！

基本同意楼上的观点，但是对B有疑问：
我觉得brightening 逻辑主语应该是cloud，用来描述trigger这个动作的产生后果，
回楼主：我自己的理解哈，欢迎讨论。
我感觉不是according to这个短语修饰不到第二句的问题，最主要问题是and：
在B选项中and把句子的前部分和后部分给割裂了，变成according to scientists...., an expanding cloud.... AND it.....会产生歧义：1）就是and前是一部分，and后是一部分，2）and 前和后还是说的一件事，显然根据原句应该是第二种理解，所以B这个地方的and 会引起歧义。

ommmm...照这么说来according to这修饰的是第一个独立句开头的主语咯？
还有一个问题哈~ 这里的介词短语是作状语么~

为什么能看出这里and后是单独的一部分呢？

还有就是it我觉得应该无指代吧~~ 因为正确句子的意思就是前面那一系列动作才引起了这个结果：brightening ....and knocking~答案是C

当然有指代，所有it都有指代的。。。

因为动作发出者是前面整句话无逻辑主语。。所以it无指代。。所以错了。。。。

应该是cloud，its具体说了its path，无指代是不可能有所有格path的。
无逻辑主语的指代是另外一种形式，比如it's nice to do sth. 这里的实际主语是to do sth，句子逻辑是to do sth is nice, 可以加个句子, It's nice to eat apple, as is to drink tea.

因为and后面完全是一个单独完整的的句子，it尽管优先指代an expanding cloud of energized particles ejected from the Sun,但是后面这个brighten和trigger的关系也被and 改变了

我注意到一个点，划线句子前有代词its，逻辑上应该是an expanding cloud of energized particles的所有格代词，所以逗号后，这个被指代的内容应该立即出现，由此排除DE
不知道这个思路是否正确，提出来讨论下

同意，B中最大的问题是and的误用。“and it brightened the Northern Lights and also possibly knocked ”前后两个句子不是独立并列，而是进一步讲明了storm对地球的影响。
