D. The growth of the global economy between 1990 and 2000 exceeds what it has been for 10,000 years, from when agriculture began
E. The growth of the global economy between 1990 and 2000 exceeded what it did for the 10,000 years from the beginning of agriculture
我不理解的是如果E选项中的it能够指代The growth of the global economy between 1990 and 2000 ，那么A选项中的it为什么不能指代Between 1990 and 2000 the global economy。it指代一般不都是指代同名同物吗。作者: skyemotion 时间: 2013-8-21 15:28
都可以指代。

觉得这题貌似考的是平行啊~说下我的思路：
A 、the global economy grew 和 it did 平行 ，先保留
B、the growth 和that 平行，后面的from when 不确定，先保留
C、曼哈顿第十三章P261页“other comparison construction”部分有讲到用exceed比较时，前后成分要平行，该选项违背了这一规则
D、同c
E、同c
下面来看保留下来的A、B选项，因为不确定B中from when 是否正确，所以把注意集中在这两个选项的前半部分：
根据曼哈顿的VAN（verb>adj>noun）法则，排除B，确定A~
