(A) much of the currently uncontrolled dioxins to which North Americans are exposed comes
(B) much of the currently uncontrolled dioxins that North Americans are exposed to come
(C) much of the dioxins that are currently uncontrolled and that North Americans are exposed to comes
(D) many of the dioxins that are currently uncontrolled and North Americans are exposed to come
(E) many of the currently uncontrolled dioxins to which North Americans are exposed come
OG中D的解释是 That are is wordy; to maintain the parallel in this construction, that would have to be repeated in the clause that North Americans are exposed to.

North Americans are exposed to many of the currently uncontrolled dioxins....所以是用倒装的意思么?作者: yzhao2xiaotong 时间: 2014-7-1 22:29
我也觉得有递进的关系,不是平行。 作者: yzhao2xiaotong 时间: 2014-7-1 22:40
这个可能也有点用~~对于to which这个从句中to提前的看法beat the gmat):
"to which North Americans are exposed" not only uses the right idiom, it also avoids the issue of dangling participles (although
the GMAT doesn't usually test on that issue, it's technically incorrect to end a sentence or clause with a preposition). For example, we shouldn't say:
"I just visited the school that I went to."
Instead, we should say:
"I just visited the school to which I went."
Just as it's improper to end a full sentence with a preposition, it's improper to end a phrase with a preposition.
So, "that North Americans are exposed to" should be "to which North Americans are exposed".
