It seems to me that the phrase "within two years" implies a general situation.

假设你用 has failed, 那不是从过去两年前，到现在一直都在 fail, 而原文没有持续动作的含义呀。

作者表达的是一般状况，只不过讨论的是从过去两年中总结出的结论而已。

我记得one of +复数名词要用复数动词

only one of+复数名词要用单数名词。

首先前面有个one所以谓语动词是单数，

另外，有within,这是个完成时的标志词，这种词还有since,(during,over,in,last,past,recent)+时间段
