答案是D没问题，我的问题是前辈们在prep中的解释式独立主格夹心修饰了，但是with独立主格表伴随不是只能做状语么，那么就不存在会向前修饰the shuttle and earlier spacecraft的情况了吧？只能伴随后边的will have to那为什么夹心了呢？或者是我对独立主格的理解有偏差了？求解释！！谢谢！！

独立主格，表示伴随，所以必须修饰主谓宾结构，而非主系表结构

但在新prep1-232题中
The Acoma and Hopi are probably the two oldest surviving Pueblo
communities, both dating back at least a thousand years.

    答案是A。
    并且解释中说  both dating 独立主格在此表示补充说明，与each型独立主格同一原理。
    此句前面部分不是 主系表结构么？和prep1-190对独立主格的解释矛盾呀 ？

我讲几点

1 语法笔记也是中国同学写的 有可能存在错误
2 本贴中你举得两例 语法比记的解释正确
3 要理解 不要死背 主系表 后面独立主格自然不可能是表示伴随 主句都没实意动词 怎么伴随 自然就是补充说明的作用 但是主系表后面不表示伴随并不意味这不能用独立主格结构

with +n +介词不一定就是独立主格结构哦，只有作状语成分时才是；它还可以作定语修饰前面的名词。
这里夹心，既可以修饰前面名词，又可以修饰后面句子，所以歧义了

想问一下，这道题正解D， 为什么用的是过去式were。 这样就与未划线部分will be 将来时形成了一个时态上的空格（只有过去式和将来时）。我判断BD的时候就因为时态吧D 删掉了，求大神解释？时态可以这样空格嘛？

有人提问：I read a comment in other forums which said-
Other than redundancy, B is also wrong because the position of " with sufficient enough power in fuel cells and batteries for their short flights" leads to ambiguity.
Because "with xxxx" then could be modifying either the shuttle and earlier spacecraft or a permanently orbiting space station
Is that ambiguity a solid ground to eliminate this choice?
