Over 75 percent of the energy produced in France derives from nuclear power, while in Germany it is just over 33 percent.

A. while in Germany it is just over 33 percent
B. compared to Germany, which uses just over 33 percent
C. whereas nuclear power accounts for just over 33 percent of the energy produced in Germany
D whereas just over 33 percent of the energy comes from nuclear power in Germany
E compared with the energy from nuclear power in Germany, where it is just over 33 percent

答案选C是没有问题来着。
但是OG对A的解释A选项的解释“Whileis somewhat ambiguous,since it might indicate simultaneity rather than contrast......“有点让我困惑...为什么while indicate simultaneity rather than contrast？在GMAT里while一般都不用作表转折吗？
看了以前的帖解释说是因为while可能会有歧义...但是单词只要多于一个意思就会导致有歧义在G里就不能用了吗？这有点奇怪诶....

Sometimes "while" can be explained as "simultaneity", for example, I am doing my homework while she is watching TV.

In this sentence, "it" might refer to " over 75% of the energy". if we use the subject substitute "it", the sentence would be "while in Germany over 75% of the energy is just over 33%". This doesn't make sense, therefore, "it" needs its antecedent.

解释的好清楚，能不能请教一道题目A wildlife expert predicts that the reintroduction of the caribou into northern Minnesota would fail if the density of the timber wolf population in that region is more numerous than one wolf for every 39 square miles.

?? (A) would fail if the density of the timber wolf population in that region is more numerous
?? (B) would fail provided the density of the timber wolf population in that region is more
???? (C) should fail if the timber wolf density in that region was greater
???? (D) will fail if the density of the timber wolf population in that region is greater
?? (E) will fail if the timber wolf density in that region were more numerous

这题为什么用will而不是would呢？

嗯...我能明白A里it的指代不明导致这句话错了...我不明白的是为什么OG里的解释中又说while can be explained as simultaneity rather than contrast....

然后这道题，我觉得如果你分不清would vs will的话，有一个关键点可以让你正确选到答案——
density （包括这一大类物理量：concentration, mass, ....) 要比较大小，最精确的表述就是greater (larger)/smaller, higher/lower
一定一定不能用"more/less density" , "more numerous"也不行
所以直接锁定C/D里的"greater"，然后根据"should"果断排出C.

I remember there are some grammar rules about it.
"If + present..., then will + verb"
"If + past..., then would/should + verb"
"If + past perfect, then would/ should + have+ verb"
and in this case, plus "greater than" is another affection on the right answer, I'll choose D.

同求，查阅了几个国外网站对A的解释都focus在it上，个人对D很疑惑，虽然明白了但是觉得实在是有些nuance，不知还有类似的题出现过吗？

为什么没人来讲讲楼主的问题呢，如果OG的解释是认为，while既可以表示转折，又可以表示同时发生的两件事，那么是不是只要用上while就会产生歧义呢？OG上有没有while引导的正确的句子的例子？

while放到句首，毫无歧异地表示contrast.
while不在句首的话，通常是表示at the same time，你要是想用它来表示contrast就可能存在歧义。

以上是个人总结。证据是所有OG + OG verbal正确句子和解释。
