可是不是很明白，a blank slate(n.)怎么和comprise(v.)平行？

是a"blank slate"和comprises specialized mental mechanisms平行。
a的两个that你的意思是the human mind和it comprisesspecialized mental mechanisms 平行了

specialized mental mechanisms是n.我能理解，但是comprise不是v.么，所以这个词组难道不是动词词组么?怎么会和a blank slate平行呢？
再请问一下，这句话到底什么意思呀?
