是不是说前面是as the former chair……后面的board member就会有歧义？ 解析说A as the former chair…for 18 consecutive years 不符合逻辑，而且主语谓语是attended…，如果是former chair, attended…也是不符合逻辑的 貌似没有提歧义。。。 我上面的理解是不是不对？（应该是has attended）作者: gtyshr 时间: 2011-4-14 20:51

1) yes 2) logic problem. it cannot be solved by just adding "has", in my perspective.
the main issue the author wants to point out is : BEING the chair of the planning board a board member, Joan Philkill did sth.

谢谢分析：）~~~不过我读了几遍还是觉得，不是因为有歧义。 感觉 AS the former chair of the planning board for 18 consecutive years 不太顺，former 是有点多余，与for 18consecutive years有点不搭
