correct:the only way to know is to take the plunge

incorrect: the only way to know is taking the plunge.

这里为什么要用to take the plunge. 或者说怎么分析这个句子的结构。

我的理解：
1）way 后就是用to固定搭配
2）动词不定式作定语修饰way,所以只能用to take the plunge
