我的问题如下：

根据语法规则：若前句用的是所有格形式，后句的代词若想指代前句的所有者，是绝对错的。

that it moved into的it指的是The Washington Post，而The Washington Post不就是所有格里面的所有者吗？

The Washington Post 不是所有格形式. 所有格形式是诸如: my/mine, Mary's ..... publisher of The Washington Post 是表示所有格的短语。

publisher 是个人,不能用it指代,从逻辑上看it指代post最合理

所以说那个“绝对错误”不成立（Tony总结的呀），只要合理就可以指代了。我以后再发现例子，再补充。

什么东西的绝对错误？GMAT中似乎罕有绝对错误的东西，可以参考前人讨论的帖子 http://forum.chasedream.com/dispbbs.asp?boardid=23&replyid=105288&id=15311&page=1&skin=0&Star=3

有可以看看国外的语法书。我查了下，在所有格的内容里没有短语。因为所有格是指代词，是作为一个整体的 word,所以所有格（代词）不包括名词短语形式。

it 为什么不会代指成1963年份啊这不就代指不清楚了啊

说来说去，我觉得大家其实也不必太纠结第二个it了，换个角度看，或许就是题目本身出得不是很完美。

It was (only after Katharine Graham became publisher of The Washington Post in 1963) thatit moved into the first rank of American newspapers, and it was (under her command) that the paper won high praise.

如果出题者把第二个强调句中的the paper和问题焦点的it互换下位置，就清晰多了！

anyway, 这道题B C D E都有被排除的理由，只能选A。。
