PREP语法注释里说：the extent of sth   或者to …extent,
            表示…的范围，the degree to sth   或者to…degree,
                表示…的程度这两个都是习惯用语。我怎么就不觉得是这样呢？我觉得也可以把to放到extent后面，比如我把E改成：

indicates the extent to which the flooding on the
planet billions of years ago was overwhelming and the degree to which rocks were scattered by its force.

这样我也不觉得unidiomatic ，不知道我这么改行不行啊，请牛牛指教！

我觉的可行....只是没有D简洁罢了

不过我也想请教一下，indicates 后面that可以省略吗？

宾语从句中的that通常不能省略。但是这里indicate后面的跟的是两个名词，因此不必跟that。

这里你用的就是 to...extent这个 idiom啊只是用了which 从句要把介词提前而已

正常的语序是 indicates the extent which the flooding on the planet billions of years ago was overwhelming to 只是把to 提前了
