答案给出的是C，我觉得，until a merger agreement be signed 和if the deal were都不对，这个题目五个选项中好像没有正确答案的。

想听听大家的意见。

if the deal were 是指假設的語氣 the deal 是不可數名詞用were代表假設語氣是可以的.

我反倒想問的是答案A. 不好的地方在哪裡？是因為 merger agreement is signed 並沒有指誰而不好嘛？因為相對答案C 有明確限定形容 with them.

我觉得B最好，一前一后两个主谓都一致，而且主动优于被动。

不知道对不对？

但是有一点不敢确定，后面那个deal的意思是什么？

B不对，if the deal were not to be...是必须的，表示对将来的假设

我同样不明白A错在哪里对于until...后使用了虚拟语气没法理解

我当时排除了A是因为if the deal were,如果不理解成虚拟语气，而理解成条件从句，were就不对了。

If + were is used to express contrary-to-fact in the present:

If I were a rich man, I would buy a Mercedes. (I am not a rich man.)

If + were to is used to express an unlikely condition in the future, something that could happen but probably won't:

If I were to win the lottery, I would buy a Mercedes. (It is unlikely that I will win the lottery, but it's possible.)
