为什么不选A？看了讨论说"that of " lacks a clear referent

这里的that of 为什么不存在指代不明的问题？

like表比较只有加名词这种用法，加that 不对。而且that指代内容有歧义。

而且这里面as it was时态上也很好的表达了两代人的对比，it指代明确。

考比较的题目有like和as的，通常都是选有as的选项。

that of 应该算名词性的吧所以个人觉得加like后面应该可以的至于that of 指代不清我也这么觉得

但是第100题好像同样存在指代不清的问题但OG却选了that of 选项

=>
X is still a
goal of a majority of young adults, as it was of earlier generations.
=>
As it was of earlier generations, X is still a
goal of a majority of young adults.
這樣會比較清楚
it非常清楚的指代X(=owning and living in a freestanding house on its own land), 因為it是一個代詞*and*它是從句的主語
A中的that可能是goal? 是majority?

that指就近的名詞(短語) - an annual per capita income

同意4楼的，73的that可以只goal也可以只majority，但100题的that就只是annual per capita income ，

另外73题想比较的是两代人而不是两代人的目标，意思上有点区别
