标题: 关于大全962　predict
962 Contrary to the scholarly wisdom of the 1950’s and early 1960’s that predicted the processes of modernization and rationalization would gradually undermine it, ethnicity is a worldwide phenomenon of increasing importance.
(A) would gradually undermine it
(B) to be a gradual undermining of it
(C) would be a gradual undermining of ethnicity
(D) to gradually undermine ethnicity
(E) gradually undermining it

哪位朋友能告诉我predict后面只接从句吗，为什么答案A没有that引导？it　会不会指代不清楚呢，因为第一个句子里有两个名词．
不好意思　我开始不知道格式．

我的理解是“that predicted...." 是修饰wisdom的， predict后面跟的是宾语从句， that 可以省略。。 predict 后面的句子是说
the processes of.....would gradually undermine it, it不是指modernization or rationalization , it是指
wisdom.
不懂分析对否，请指教。

字典上关于pridect的用法是　predict sth; predict that从句；sth is predicted to do..例：
The storm is predicted to reach Florida tomorrow morning. 所以应该不可以说predict sth to do sth吧．

但是严格说，predict后面应该接that吧？虽然是有点重复．it 用得也不恰当，虽然大家都知道它指代的什么．以前的练习题不都是代词放在句首都错吗？即使后面主句用了代词所指代的名词．

我覺得是主要從句的意思大於從屬從句的意思所以才可以這樣用。
把它背起來吧！

用從句似乎比用D好
that predicted the processes of modernization and rationalization (to gradually undermine ethnicity)
BC則數量不一致
E狗屁不通

the 'that' in object clause is never ommitted by ETS, what's wrong here?

should logically modify 'modernization and rationalization'
