204. In recent years cattle breeders have increasingly used crossbreeding, in part that their steers should acquire certain characteristics and partly because crossbreeding is said to provide hybrid vigor.

in part for the acquisition of certain characteristics in their steers
partly because of their steers acquiring certain characteristics
partly because certain characteristics should be acquired by their steers
partly to acquire certain characteristics in their steers

若考试遇到这类题，我会选D，因为平行对称，partly because 对partly because ，而且语态也是被动对被动，晕啊！我的思路错在哪儿啦？救救我吧！

小嘎同学，我来说说我的看法：

在选择答案的时候尽量避免被动语态，尤其是这里存在主动地正确形式。
另外，平行的时候要管大平行，小的平行可忽略。

D使用了被动语气，我看着是不顺眼的，呵呵，另外，这里的should 是不应该用的。E很好，目的和原因的并列。

考虑平行对称。
partly 和to 之间省略because certain characteristics
E完整补充出来应该是partly（ because certain characteristics ）to acquire certain characteristics in their steers

should只能表示"应该"的语气么,怎么我好象在那道题里曾经看到should有表示对未来进行预测的用法,所以就选了D,之前还以为本题是考察的是平行对称结构和should的特殊用法呢.请NN指教

首先说D：“their steers ”中的their指代谁？前半句只有一个主语：cattle breeders ；

从语义上来看，我觉得此题并不是平行结构。只是一个问题的两个原因表述。
