答案是C，C比E优在哪里？问题好像比较弱，希望不吝赐教。

从结构上，CE都对，因为ing 对应ing， to infinitival对to infinitival ,但是CE的区别在于gradually修饰 to instill the notion （动作），而E中把gradually换成了形容词gradual，修饰notion(名词)，改变了原意。所以C好
